A strong community focus is encouraged with a strong design response that invigorates this rural area and unites the community. Expressed as an eroded object, the building form is cut away to provide covered seating and viewing areas that overlook the adjacent oval and also look towards the northern views to the Tarra Bulga National Park.
First and foremost this is a community building that serves a large number of users: ranging from a large variety of sports, arts, culture and safety. The building is therefore expressed in 2 clear parts:
- A community centre that is adjacent the oval and also focussed on northern views to the Tarra Bulga National Park
- A sports focus, containing AFL and DSE compliant Change rooms for players, visitors and umpires, first aid and storerooms
