Achievements
Cost effective design solutions to successfully revitalise and transform external learning and play spaces
“Run-down and underutilised external areas transformed into exciting flexible spaces for learning and play”
The existing tired and worn school grounds were revitalised and transformed to successfully create new and improved flexible learning and play areas.
The new terracing along the oval edge creates an exciting presentation to the sports ground whilst providing a new platform for spectator viewing with easy and safe access to the oval. The adjacent underutilised space along the oval edge has been transformed into a flexible outdoor learning area for small and large groups. This area adjacent to the terracing has been dressed with synthetic turf and existing refurbished seating and tables.
The run-down asphalted sports courts were given a new lease on life with new acrylic surfacing. The two coloured sports courts allow for a variety of sports overlayed on both courts including Basketball, Netball, Soccer and a number of Tennis courts.
Key design initiatives include:
- Collaborative briefing and engagement with school and community
- Affordable solutions with effective school focused design outcomes
