The existing Belgrave Library presented as quite a nice building but was held back with poor internal planning and lack of detail.
Katz were engaged to provide a modest interior rework, and we immediately set about improving the interior detail to exemplify the grand internal space that was previously hidden.
New lighting is positioned high in the lofty space and shines up and down to highlight the ceiling and space.
Flexibility is key, with a clear floor plan enabling freedom of layout below, with dedicated spaces contained in a single spine along one side of the library
Thanks to Paul and his team for stretching a budget so far

A key objective was to improve the identity, so the project extended outwards with a linking arrival core that heralds its presence to the wider community.
Sustainability drove many decisions – natural light and views to all spaces, sustainable materials and reused furniture.
It was a fantastic project to work on…thanks to Paul and Katz Architecture
