Gordon Street Pavilion

Community Heart, Defining Presence

The Gordon Street Pavilion caters to a number of local sports clubs including Football, Cricket, Basketball and Netball.

A primary design feature to the pavilion is a series of timber battens running vertically across and wrapping around the façade of the building. The screen defines the presence of the overall building whilst expressing the entry and striking new roof form.  It also capitalises on a main local community manufacturer, supporting local content.

The facility has been substantially improved with upgrades to amenities, refurbished change rooms and a new toilet block strategically positioned to cater to all sports facilitated by the pavilion.  The social room has been extended but still caters for varying numbers with movable partitions.  This room spills out onto a covered outdoor space taking advantage of views across the football oval.

“The pavilion is given a fresh lease on life with new and upgraded facilities.”
