Design Concept
This is a project of national significance. It should encourage the growth of football at all levels and in so doing generate positive social and community outcomes.
Whilst this is the mantra of Melbourne Victory, with support from Maribyrnong City Council, it is also the legacy to which the architecture and academy must aspire.
It therefore requires a visionary response, befitting a project of national significance. The academy must connect and unite people from all backgrounds regardless of gender or age.
It must inspire the development of players by providing state of the art facilities that give young players the best chance of fulfilling their dreams with football.

Illustrated below are diagrams that demonstrate our design approach, resolving client brief requirements and tailoring to the specific site opportunities in a way that highlights its significant status as a national sports academy. Several options are considered before arriving at the best solution.
